VU3 – Enterprise Sales Platform for VW Group

The Challenge

Porsche Informatik GmbH (Salzburg, Austria) operates VU3 (Verkaufsunterstützung version 3), the centralized sales support platform used by Volkswagen Group dealerships throughout Europe and beyond. The platform handles critical business processes including vehicle stock management, pricing calculations, currency handling, document workflows, and multi-brand configuration. With hundreds of developers across dozens of teams and continuous expansion into new markets, the project required experienced Angular and Java developers who could integrate seamlessly into established workflows while contributing to multiple specialized modules.

Our Solution

Working through Cloudflight GmbH (Linz, Austria), we became an integral part of the VU3 development organization, contributing to multiple teams and modules. Our work has spanned diverse functional areas including Stocklist and AddOns management, Buildability and Actuality Checks, Performance Board analytics, Multi-Currency support, Special Tax calculations, PVMS integration, DocFlow document management, and the Price Engine. We've also supported Legacy Development for specific markets like Italy and contributed to core platform features. Our team follows the established architecture patterns and development standards while delivering production-quality code that serves thousands of dealerships daily.

The Result

VU3 has become the backbone of vehicle sales operations for the Volkswagen Group's dealer network, successfully deployed across 28+ countries including Germany, Austria, UK, Italy, Spain, France, and many others. The platform processes millions of transactions, manages vast vehicle inventories, and enables consistent sales processes across all major VW Group brands. Our ongoing contribution helps maintain and extend this mission-critical system that directly impacts automotive retail operations throughout Europe.
