IHK eFaktura – E-Invoicing Consent Portal
Paperless Billing

The Challenge
With the push toward digitalization in Germany, the IHK Schwaben needed a way for members to opt into electronic invoicing. The existing paper-based billing process was costly, slow, and environmentally unfriendly. Members needed a simple, secure way to consent to receiving invoices electronically, while the IHK required proper documentation and audit trails to meet legal requirements. The system had to integrate with existing member databases and billing systems without disrupting ongoing operations.
Our Solution
We built an e-invoicing consent portal using Angular for the frontend and Java/Spring Boot for the backend. The platform allows members to easily grant or revoke consent for electronic invoicing through a straightforward interface. The system implements full GDPR compliance with double opt-in verification, complete audit logging, and automated notifications. It integrates with the IHK's existing member database via SOAP interfaces and automatically updates billing preferences across their systems.
The Result
The eFaktura consent portal has enabled thousands of IHK members to switch to paperless billing, significantly reducing printing and postage costs while accelerating invoice delivery. The automated consent management eliminates manual processing, and the integration with existing systems ensures billing preferences are always synchronized. The modular architecture allows for easy extension as e-invoicing requirements evolve.
